Jiangsu, circa 1920
These handcrafted wooden boxes are from Jiangsu province, produced near the cities of Shanghai and Suzhou. They open up to reveal a full mirror and multiple drawers, providing storage for smaller items including jewellery, beads, brooches, and cosmetics. The neat design allows the boxes to fold into a compact size for simple storage or transport. Featuring original brass hardware, hinges, and in some cases decorative bone inlays, these boxes serve well today as jewellery or gift boxes.
Sold individually, the price shown is for one box.
